What Are Easy People to Get in Madden 17

The Gauntlet returns this year, but luckily there's only 2 other skills trainer achievements this year, and they're pretty simple. The Gauntlet is pretty challenging again though. Go into the skills trainer and see what team it pairs you with during team selection. If it's not a low overall team, back out and re-enter skills trainer. Do this until you get matched with a lower rated team. Select a high rated team with a good run attack. Falcons, Cowboys, even the low rated Vikings with Adrian Peterson will be good. You want someone who can break tackles. Most of the difficult gauntlet achievements will require you creating your own running lanes by literally trucking the defender and running right over people. To make things as easy as possible, set the difficulty to Rookie.

Scroll over to Run Concepts and begin with the Hat Count Drill. You'll need a bronze medal or better for all 8 concepts. For this drill, you want to run the ball to the side of the field that has more of your Offensive Lineman than Defensive Lineman on the line of scrimmage. If you're unfamiliar with these drills, run the tutorial to get a good explanation.

Next is the outside zone tutorial. Run to the highlighted box on the edge or the line, your line will try to set the edge for you to either bounce outside or cut inside into the box. During the actual drill, the box will be gone, but follow your edge setter and keep getting first downs and rushing to the end zone.

Next up is the inside zone. The middle of your line should open up for you, either bouncing out towards your tackles or inside towards your center. The tutorial will show you the box again giving you an idea of what to do. Your goal on this drill is to get to the endzone, just like the outside zone drill.

Next will be the Power drill. In this drill your lineman and your fullback will double team a defender and push him back, creating a point of attack for you to run around. The tutorial will again show you a highlighted box to give you a good idea of your running lane. You'll need to reach the endzone for this drill as well.

Next up is the trap drill. In this drill, your lineman will get blocked, or "trapped" away from the ball. Follow the tutorial for this one as it's hard to explain without the highlighted box and the keys. You'll need touchdowns on this drill as well.

Next is the Counter drill. This is a misdirection play where you'll begin running one way, and while your line continues pushing that direction, you'll cut back the other way. This will usually trap all of the first level defenders. Follow the tutorial if you need to better understand your running lane, and go for the endzone during the counter drill.

Next is the Option drill. In the option, you'll have the choice to run with the QB or to hand it to the RB. There will be a R for your Read key above a defender. At the snap, if the defender tails the RB, hold the ball with the QB and run the way that read defender just came from. If he targets the QB, Hold cn_A to give the handoff to the RB and allow him to bounce around his line. Sometimes you'll be running shovel options, which is the same concept except you'll need to press LB to flip the ball back to the RB instead of handing it off. In this drill, you'll need to make sure you make the right choice. The endzone is not the goal here.

The Inverted Veer is essentially the same concept as the Option drill, just ran in a different formation. You'll again need to make the right choice for a badge here, the endzone is not the goal here.

After completing these drills you'll unlock

For the Gauntlet, you can attempt it with the same team you did the run concepts with, against a lower rated opponent. However, if you struggle with it, here's the easiest way to get the achievement.

Solution for Threw down the Gauntlet Again In Madden NFL 17

"I attempted this with the Vikings99 roster but could not do it. Then I tried a roster called 'GauntletCheese' and got it on the first go around without losing any lives. This roster maxed out the main Steelers players and min out the Bills which made them so horribly slow in which you can just run by them.

  1. Download GauntletCheese roster and remember to load it. (The Steelers won't be overall 99 but that doesn't matter)
    2. Start up Skills Trainer and backing out until you get Bills as opponent then just choose Steelers and set to Rookie.
    3. Start up Gauntlet and play through the easiest way possible.
    4. Listen to that sweet new diamond level achievement sound popping!"
